Jonathan Thompson is a multi-disciplinary artist who specializes in developing real-time performance systems that enable synesthetic audiovisual synchronization and the transformation of musical information from audio to the visible realm of light. While studying Computer Science at the University of Virginia, he started to create audiovisual performances and the complex systems required to run them. During an artist residency with Cyber Illusions in Colombo, Sri Lanka, he created his first warehouse scale solo performance and collaborated with local artists on lighting and visual projects. He currently resides in New York while working on experiential branding projects with corporate clients including Instagram, Facebook, VISA, Sony, and Netflix. He also works on audiovisual projects independently and in collaboration with musical artists such as SQUNTO and Crystal Control.
