Workshop

A Collaborative Rube Goldberg Machine

Have you ever played the game The Incredible Machine (TIM)? Or maybe you’ve aligned some dominoes to create a mesmerizing chain reaction?

This session will highlight TouchDesigner's flexibility to create amazing in situ installations by combining physical ingredients (projectors, motors, smoke, LEDs, cardboard, tape) with digital ingredients (3D shapes, particle systems, animations, and text).

Participants will have the opportunity to prepare for the session in advance. The idea is to quickly brainstorm and start prototyping as a team by splitting up the different components of the final installation. The final result will be a friendly chain reaction. An exquisite corpse of poetic combinations of craft and code.

Level:
Intermediate
Prerequisites: (Optional: Participants are encouraged to bring their own projectors, LED strip+controller, MIDI instruments, Arduino already working with TouchDesigner...). Philippe will communicate a week ahead of the session to anticipate the final piece.
